Provide a secure, well-ventilated vertical enclosure with climbing opportunities, cover, foliage, and appropriate hiding areas. Juveniles and adults should have an enclosure sized for their stage of life and ability to locate food.

Crested Gecko Care
A practical starting point for responsible ownership. Individual animals can have different needs, so husbandry should be adjusted with observation and appropriate veterinary guidance.
Temperature
Avoid excessive heat. Use reliable digital temperature measurements and provide a stable, species-appropriate environment. Never rely on a heat source without monitoring the actual enclosure temperature.
Humidity
Use a natural humidity cycle rather than keeping the enclosure constantly saturated. Allow appropriate drying between misting periods while ensuring the animal has access to water.
Nutrition
Use a complete crested-gecko diet as the nutritional foundation and offer appropriately sized insects when appropriate. Fresh food and clean water should be provided consistently.
Handling
Give new animals time to settle. Handle calmly and close to a safe surface. Avoid grabbing the tail; crested geckos can drop their tails and do not regrow them.
Records
Keep notes on weight, feeding, shedding, behavior, and enclosure conditions. Consistent records can make it easier to recognize changes early.
